The DeKalb County Police Department is currently investigating four cases where victims responding to a car sale ad on Craigslist and scammed out of hundreds of dollars. According to detectives, the victims responded to postings by the suspect offering a Chrysler PT Cruiser and a GMC Yukon. The suspect would then set a meeting with the victim to test drive one of the cars and during the test drive, the suspect would request deposits from the victims ranging from $500 to $1,600.
